How to Apply for a Driving License in Bangladesh (2026)

Getting a smart card driving license in Bangladesh is a multi-step process governed by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). You must first secure a learner permit, pass the driving competency exams, and then register for the smart card.

Step 1: Medical Fitness Certificate

Download the official BRTA Medical Certificate form from the BRTA website. Have it completed and signed by a registered MBBS doctor. This certificate is mandatory to apply for the learner permit.

Step 2: Obtain a Learner License
