How to Apply for an e-Passport in Bangladesh (2026 Step-by-Step)

Applying for an e-Passport in Bangladesh is now fully digitized. You must fill out the form online, pay the fees, and visit a regional passport office for biometric enrollment (fingerprints, iris scan, and photograph).

Step 1: Check Eligibility

Before starting, ensure you have a valid National ID Card (NID) or an online-verified Birth Registration Certificate (BRC). The name, date of birth, and parents' details on these documents must match your application exactly.

Step 2: Register on the e-Passport Portal

Navigate to the official e-Passport portal at epassport.gov.bd.
Click on Apply Online.
Select your district and the nearest Regional Passport Office (RPO).
Create an account using an active email address and mobile number.

Step 3: Complete the Online Application

Once logged in, fill out the application form carefully:

Personal Information: Enter your name, gender, and date of birth exactly as they appear on your NID/BRC.
Address: Provide present and permanent address details. Police verification will be conducted at your present address.
Emergency Contact: Enter contact information of a relative or spouse.
Passport Options: Choose the validity (5 years or 10 years) and the page volume (48 pages or 64 pages).

Step 4: Pay the Passport Fees

Step 5: Schedule Biometric Enrollment
